Doc. Ing. Miloš Michlovský, DrSc., was born in 1953 in Hustopeci. After he finished high school of enology in Valtice he entered Horticultural faculty in Moscow Agricultural Academy. In 1985 he completed his PhD thesis “Agrobiological and technological evaluation of resistant and elite forms of vine NPO VIERUL, that are prospective for european region of USSR and CSSR”. First professional experience he got while working for Breeding station of Moldavian Viticultural University and University of Viticulture and Enology in Jalta. At the same time he was one of the founders of scientific and production association called Resistant. In 1991-1994 he worked as pedagogue in Horticultural Department. In 2001 he defended scientific work “Breeding development in the direction of vine resistance” and gained academic title of docent of the Horticltural Faculty. His professional growth he continued in Moscow, where in 2005 he defended doctoral thesis “The application of scientific approaches in vine resistance breeding within the bounds of biological viticulture in Czech Republic”.
In his scientific work from the very beginning he was oriented on selection and breeding of new winegrape varieties that have resistance to biotic (fungi, pests) and abiotic (frosts, drought) factors. His knowledge and experience he applied in the field of grape processing and wine production using modern innovative technologies.
He works as chief executive officer at VINSELEKT MICHLOVSKÝ company that was found in 1995 in Rakvice and focuses on production of high quality wines that reflect their terroir.
